In Sanur, you can’t beat the “no frills” Beachside Cafes if you have kids in tow.
There are plenty of beach cafes if you stroll along the walkway Sanur beach so you can take your pick. This is the best option for a family meal in Sanur, where your kids can play in the sand while you enjoy the view with Bintang in hand. They can be a bit hit and miss in our experience with the food quality. So here are some winners that we love.

Perhaps my favourite is Warung Pantai Indah, which is super basic and very "no frills". They have simple, lovely BBQ seafood, rustic wooden tables and a great view. The first time I went there with my 6-month old bub I had the most unexpected relaxing dinner (with free babysitting from the owners!). It's near Peeneda View Hotel on the beach.
Sanur Beach Grove is one of my family's favourite places to eat and hang when in Sanur. The atmosphere is great, there is space for kids to play and lots of nice food options from the food stalls.

We also love Tandung Sari for an excellent Indo meal for lunch (or dinner would be good too). It’s a lovely old style Bali place with swept up gardens and beautiful finishes. The service is great. The beachside tables are the best.
Mix with the locals at Nasi Men Weti Bali for an authentic Balinese meal and reputedly the best nasi campur in Sanur. Be there before the stroke of midday, or it’s closed.

Lilla Pantai has a relaxed chilled beachy vibe with great views and a good selection of food. They also do excellent brekkies too. They have a few baby chairs and love kids.
Other yummy picks that aren’t beachside.
For sleep-deprived parents with a caffeine addiction head to the hip Grocer and Grind where there is quality coffee and a funky vibe. It's good for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Bread and Basket Bakery & Cafe is the is the place to go for fluffy Parisian pastries and to pick up a loaf of sour dough bread. The Sanur Night Market is cheap and fun . Tucked away in a quiet street off the main drag is Kayu Manis which is popular with local expats.
Hardy's Supermarket on the main street of Sanur is the place to stock up on supplies and has a pretty good selection of baby products, nappies, wipes, etc. as well as overpriced wine, cheese and other bits 'n pieces.
Play n’ Frolic
Simple is often best with littlies. So, head to the beach and fly a kite, have a swim and let the kids play in the sand, watch the local fishermen and they can even try their hand at fishing. But, if burning off some energy in aircon is required check out Peek A Boo play area which is a large indoor play centre.
If you are in Sanur for a while, check out the Cheeky Monkeys Learning Centre, which is set in fabulous gardens and has excellent activities and programs for kids aged 1-6. Jumping Beans Playground also runs a holiday program for children from 1 ½ - 5 years.
The Sanur Sunday Market is nice at and relaxing. There is a bouncy castle, henna tattoos and arts & craft activities. You can also make use of the Sahadewa Swimming Pool and Mercure Resort Kids Club facilities for Rp.50,000 per family.
In August, the Sanur Village Festival has plenty of stuff littlies will like.

Just for Parents
For pampering try the Kemiri Nut Scrub at Jamu Traditional Spa. If you are a yoga kind of person, the Power Of Now Bamboo Beach Bar or is worth a visit. It's a lovely two story open plan bamboo "shala"with a nice vibe for yoga.
There are constantly new places popping up in Sanur, and places shut down too! If you have any other suggestions on great places to play and eat with kids around Sanur I'd love to hear from you.
