THE BEST KID FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS IN CANGGU

These days the hip crowd can be found a little bit further north of Seminyak around the boho neighbourhood of Canggu which is an 8km coastal stretch which consists of Berawa, Batu Bolong and Echo Beach. Once the haunt of avid surfers these days it’s also where the hipsters hang and where families "in the know" head for their Bali getaway. The "Gu" (as locals call it) has heaps of things to see and do with kids.

There are new eating joints popping up all the time in Canggu! It's a paradise for foodies no matter what your age – vegans, veggies rejoice. But it’s not all turmeric lattes and raw superfood energy balls. There’s delectable Indo food, mouth-watering burgers, Mexican, homemade pasta and wood fired pizzas.

Looking for the best kid friendly restaurants in Canggu? Here are 8 of the very best family friendly places to eat with kids in the "Gu" - Bali!

The fabulous La Laguna is hard to beat for an evening out with its whimsical colourful gipsy eclectic decor and tropical gardens overlooking a lagoon. It's fun, it's quirky, the food is moorish and there's enough space for kids to explore so you can chill and soak it all in. Love lots!

LA LAGUNA IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT - CHECK THEIR WEBSITE FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION.

You'll fall in love with the Dandelion Café and its cute fluffy resident bunnies. It's set in a charming an old Joglo, with a lovely garden out back. The setting and ambience here is a winner and the food is scrumptious. Feeding the bunnies is always a hit with our kids.

Well loved and justifiably so Milk and Madu is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. With toys and books, space to run and a great little play house it totally caters for families. Check out their FB page for kids craft activities they regularly run. They do acoustic nights and hip hop lunches. There's lots going on here.

With a cafe, a cool kids playground, movie nights, a wholefoods market and a pilates studio under on roof - the Joglo (Mades Warung) is a total crowd pleaser for everyone in the family. The kids’ menu has lots of yummy options including banana and Nutella pancakes and ham and cheese toasties. They do Sunday Fundays and have regular kids activities on offer. It's cool and kid friendly - win win in my books!

La Casita is perhaps one of the most kid-friendly restaurants in Bali. With an outdoor playground and free activities on offer. There's a sandpit, a pirate ship and a little mini market to play shops. I don't think of Peruvian food when I go to Bali but it's mighty tasty. The Peruvian Alfajores are my pick.

There's so much to love about this eco-friendly cafe. If you are craving organic healthy food make a beeline to this joint. Vegans and vegetarians this is your kind of cafe. There's a Little Sprouts menu for kids as well.

A big plus for families is the adjacent Gardens Kids Club which is a beautiful drop in learning centre with a great outdoor area for kids aged 2- 12 years. Yes, that means you can have a quiet coffee or brunch sans kids if you need some "me time".

A regular old favourite is Old Mans where the atmosphere is fun, kids can scamper and adults can kick back, relax and watch the sunset with a bevy. It can get pumping in the evening.

Set overlooking the dressage and showjumping arenas at the Bali Equestrian Centre, this fancy pants and swept place is jaw dropping. As well as getting horsey there's a large pool and a grassy area with a sand pit. Lunch at Aravina with a horse riding lesson is sure to thrill horse mad kids. Giddy Up!

Bon Apetit
