WHERE TO STAY IN ubud

RICE PADDIES, HEALERS & KALE TONIC

Ubud is the "cultural heart" of Bali. It's famous for its verdent green rice paddies, lush ravinous landscape, Balinese arts and traditional crafts and more recently, "Eat, Pray, Love" with Julia Roberts which draws travellers seeking Balinese healers, yoga, "organic" food & natural spa treatments.

The centre of Ubud is hectic, but in the surrounding villages the pace is slower. There is lots to do and see with kids in and around Ubud. If you have little kids be aware that lots of divine boutique hotels, villas and guesthouses are built on the hilly landscape, i.e., steps, drops etc., which can be toddler hazards.

Ubud is located approximately 40 mins to one hour's drive north of the airport Ubud (depending on traffic).
