STAY: 4 STYLISH KID-FRIENDLY DIGS

How “baby-friendly”& “toddler-safe” a holiday pad is, are key considerations in choosing where to stay. But, just because you have kids in tow doesn’t mean you need to skimp on style, right? These pads are both stylish and can cater for the littlest members in your brood with pool fences, high chairs, cots and more.

Bali is well known for its outstanding accommodation options - be it chic cliff-top hotels, charming guesthouses, laid-back beach bungalows, lavish boutique resorts, and uber-hip villas. The sheer choice of places to stay can be overwhelming. Then factor an adventurous toddler or a crawling bub into your equation, and it gets pretty darnm confusing trying to find a getaway dig that is going to suit everyone in your tribe.

1. ECLECTIC BUNGALOWS WITH AN AFRICAN TWIST

Villa Sari Dewi

Seminyak

Villa Sari Dewi is definitely on the quirky side, and what I seek at Growing up Troppo! From the outside these bungalows look like something you may expect to see in Malawi, not Seminyak, but I LOVE them. The interiors are curvy and organic with are a rustic but lavish kind of flare.

Villa Sari Dewi has two bungalows. The main bungalow has 2 bedrooms (interconnecting) and a bathroom. The master bedroom is a BOLD turquoise colour, which could be a disaster, but looks vibrant, fun and funky. There is another circular guest-house bedroom with an open-air en-suite bathroom which is the third bedroom, and great for the grandparents or for extras who want a bit of their own space.

The pool can be fenced, and there is what looks like a nice garden. By Seminyak standards it's in a pretty central location. High chairs, cots and other bub stuff can be organised.

Villa Sari Dewi is managed by a lovely family with 3 boys who live in Bali and are the people behind Bali Family Villas and Bali Soul Villas. Emily specialises in luxurious family friendly holiday pads and seem super helpful in all my contact with them.

2. TROPICAL ISLAND COOL, STYLISH & FABULOUS

Mister Zimi Villa

Umalas (near Seminyak)

ALL the kit & caboodle for little tots, permanent glass fenced pool & enclosed garden & lawn for kiddy frolicking, 3 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms, 6 guests.

This divine abode is the part-time family home of talented Zoe and Jimi Paul, who are responsible for the vibrant fashion label Mister Zimi. Their villa looks utterly fabulous and fun and is filled with splashes of colour and gorgeous textiles that make their fashion label so unique. Located in the hip and quiet area of Umalas, not far from the glitz and glam of Seminyak. Gorgeous aesthetics aside it's well designed for families with littlies and comes with everything you need. This fabulous pad is understandably popular, so you need to book well in advance.

3. GORGEOUS PADS + 4 HOURS FREE BABYSITTING!

Villa Suar

Seminyak

Villa Suar consists of 3 villas (2,3 & 5 bedrooms), Australian standard pool fence if you need one, and pretty much EVERYTHING you need for little ones and their parents.

If you can afford to splurge, and are in need of a relaxing and luxurious holiday with ALL the trimmings (and more), close to fantastic restaurants and shops, then these villas could be just right. The interiors look sublime, and the layout of all of the villas is well thought out for families. Car seats, cots, high chairs, kids menu, DVDs and more are all part of the deal. But, it’s the 4 hours of free babysitting every day that caught my eye. I’m not sure about you but in 4 hours I could doze, then read my book, perhaps get a massage, and even fit in a bit of retail therapy!

If these villas tickle your fancy, check out my full review.

4. SUPER CLOSE TO THE BUZZ & BEACH

Saudara Villas

Seminyak

Although famed for its ultra cool bars, ritzy spas, chichi restaurants, and hipster fashion boutiques, Seminyak does has heaps to offer, when it comes to keeping even the littlest member of your family content. If you are craving a “Seminyak fix” that is really close to the beach and everything else that Seminyak has to offer, but in a quiet location where tiny tots are especially welcome and can be easily catered for, these pads ticks all the boxes.

2 beachy chic 2/3 bedroom pads next to each other with 2 bathrooms, GREAT location, a pool fence can be organised, littlies welcomed & can be catered for, Seminyak.
