Although famed for its ultra cool bars, opulent spas, chichi restaurants and fashion boutiques, Seminyak and the surrounding areas of Kerobokan, Umalas and Petitenget have heaps to offer when it comes to keeping even the littlest member of your family content. There are heaps of places for little tykes to play, shop and eat (that grown-ups will love too).

OK, so it's busy, the traffic is generally hideous and the pavements are hard to navigate on foot (and a nightmare with a stroller). But, hang in there and go with it, and you will be richly rewarded because a ‘Seminyak Fix’ can be the perfect antidote for weary parents. And, when the buzz gets too much, you can always retreat to your villa to swim, sleep, watch a DVD, chill, have a poolside massage and relax.

In terms of navigating your way around Seminyak, it can be confusing! Get a map and work out the main streets. If you have young kids it's often a good to decide on the place you want to go to eat that you know is cool for parents and kid-friendly before you head out. Get a cab if it's too far for littlies!
